What is the difference between Swedish and Sports Massage?

Swedish is the ultimate relaxation. Head to toe, mostly gentle fluid moves that are geared toward relaxation, healing, and calming your nervous system.

Sports massage includes Swedish techniques but includes deep tissue, trigger point, and stretching to optimize performance and recovery.

What do I wear for a massage?

For all massages you are draped with a sheet for you comfort. You can undress to your comfort level, but most clients choose to be fully undressed.

What lotions or creams do you use?

All massages are performed with Biotone Massage Lotion or Cream. They are nut oil free. Here is a list of ingredients: Purified Water, Coconut Oil Ester (octyl palmitate), Apricot Oil (Prunus Armeniaca), Sesame Oil (Sesamum Indicum) and Grapeseed Oil (Vitis Vinifera), Canola Oil (Brassica Napus), Emulsifying Wax NF, Glycerin, Grapeseed Extract (Vitis Vinifera), Carbomer, Propylene Glycol (and) Diazolidinyl Urea (and) Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Dimethicone, Triethanolamine, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate

How should I prepare for a massage?

You should be showered and avoid wearing any perfumes or colognes. Hygiene is of utmost importance!

When should I arrive?

I recommend that you try and arrive 10 minutes early if you are regular client. For new clients 15-20 minutes early is ideal to fill out forms, discuss your health history, and set goals for your massage.

How often should I receive massage?

That is up to you. If you are an athlete or a navigating an injury, massage once a week maybe be helpful. Ideally you should receive a massage every 3-4 weeks for the healing benefits!

I am going to yoga before, can I come right after?

Absolutely, that is best time for a good relaxing massage.

When should I NOT come for a massage?

Please avoid coming to a massage if you have a fever, have a contagious skin condition, or a feeling generally unwell with a cold or flu.

What do I do I need to cancel, or I am running late?

I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. 50% of the service will be charged to your card on file if you cancel in the 24 hour window. There is some flexibility, since life happens. However, this is at the discretion of the massage therapist.
